The Retro 2-Ingredient Dessert That's Making a Comeback

When it comes to handmade desserts, we like trying something new as much as we do enhancing a classic. But we have a soft place for an easy, classic dessert that transports us to a simpler period. Let us reacquaint you with handcrafted peanut butter fudge.

We adore this delicious treat since it's simple to create with just two ingredients and comes in a variety of flavors. Although peanut butter is essential, the second ingredient may be anything from cream cheese to vanilla icing or almond bark.

Of course, more sophisticated recipes call for additional ingredients, such as all-purpose flour, butter, and marshmallow crème, to mention a few, but when you can obtain great results with only two, why not go for the easy route?

With the holidays approaching, this is an ideal treat for entertaining, cookie exchanges, or as a present for someone with a real sweet appetite.

Ingredients

1 pound white almond bark, broken up 1 (18-ounce) jar peanut butter

Directions

Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with plastic wrap, leaving several inches of overhang on each side.

Melt the broken coating in a large glass microwave-safe bowl on low power for approximately 5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds to 1 minute. When the coating is smooth and creamy, mix in the peanut butter until the fudge is well blended. Place the fudge in the prepared baking dish.

Refrigerate fudge for 1 to 2 hours, or until firm. Using the plastic wrap as handles, lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into squares using a pizza cutter.
